Spread Spectrum Signal Processing for Low Power Transmitters

The invention relates to reduced power consumption and more specifically to a new technique for radio data transmission that will significantly reduce the power requirements for operating the radio. These more efficient transmitters would be ideal for sensor networks such as thermostats and thermometers for controlling HVAC systems in commercial buildings. The lower power requirement would extend battery life or enable batteryless operation using energy harvesting. The low power technique could also be applied to general purpose data radios.
