PFTT - Method to Increase Ion Sorption/Desorption Rates by Charged Conductive Materials

A new method for enhanced rates of charging/discharging conductive electrodes in electrolytes systems has been discovered. This method can be employed to remove ions from aqueous solutions via capacitive deionization work faster and more effectively than with currently used methods. Furthermore, the new method can be applied to make supercapacitors or electrical double-layer (EDL) capacitors charge/discharge faster than current EDL capacitors.

More than two-fold increases in charging/discharging rates of conductive electrodes in electrolyte systems have been achieved with the new method.
