Binderless Composite Scintillator for Neutron Detection

Preparation of new heterogeneous inorganic scintillator screens that detect thermal and epithermal neutrons with high efficiency. The high optical transparency of the inorganic material allows scintillation light propagation through neutron absorbing screens as thick as 1 mm. The scintillation response time is very fast and would be of benefit in high count rate neutron detectors.
