Matrix for Algal Cultivation

Green algae colonize and grow on a matrix, and remained on the surface of the matrix, allowing easy removal of spent medium and faster algal growth. The matrix offers certain advantages over cotton and other plant-derived matrices due to its special properties. The matrix allows transmission of visible light and is highly hydrated, and has a porous, net-like microstructure.
